LED Dashboard Gear Indicator
Some people may say "this is not necessary". I say "your an idiot". OK, maybe not an idiot just a dummy! This LED dashboard gear indicator is one of my favorite features on the Qlink XF200. In this photo the "N" indicates the transmission is in neutral.
I use it CONSTANTLY. I use it to tell me when I am in neutral at stop lights so I can be sure I can let out my clutch without bucking the machine and stalling out, I use it when I am coming out of a turn onto another street to be sure I am not in too high of a gear, I use it when "splitting lanes" on the highway or in heavy city traffic to feel more secure in maintaining control (splitting lanes only legal in California FYI).
It comes in handy at all times when riding and saves a lot of avoidable abuse and wear and tear on the power train. Not to mention, this is a major benefit to beginners for obvious reasons. The xf200 is my first street motorcycle. This feature was/is so beneficial to me I felt it was long overdue for a mention in the XF200 Blog.

So true.Do you have a rear disc too?My bike has one and its working great and its nice too.How can i send you some pics?
o they started putting the disc brakes out now? i knew the rear disc was coming i have a drum in the rear. what country do you live in? send some pics to one of my emails here spammerbox2@cox.net that way when the spambots pick it up the spam will be getting sent to the right place!
Hey what is your rpm range you usually shift in? I shift between 4000 and 6000, for all gears. Granted I have both front,and rear sprokets changed over.
I usually shift at the same rpm range,but my stock sprokets are 15/48
What was your stock sproket size?
To be honest I cant remember what specs. I have for my sprokets. I think I have 16/46
i shift gears at 4-6000 rpms as well. i also have swapped out my front sprocket from a 15 tooth to a 16 tooth. My rear sprocket has been swapped from a 48 tooth to a 44 tooth.
Thanks for the tips volksjagger, your posts are very helpful. I have just finished running in my GY200 and came to the same conclusions about changing sprocket sizes. I think the bike is great after 1500km and with some small adjustments to aid better cruising speed I should be more than satisfied! Stay in touch..
Just curious what extras are you going to put on. I have about 6000K on mine. It runs good. Everynow and then,I have to move the back tire back, the chain gets loose. I also sanded down both brakes a bit, I do alot of city driving. Cool.
